Sacred Heart Cafeteria

Specialty
Complete replacement of the existing school cafeteria. Plan, plan, plan and execute. This is the perfect example of where a thorough pre- construction planning process pays off. During this preconstruction process all of the budgeting and contract pricing, submittal process and design, scheduling and ordering of all kitchen equipment and lead times in advance of the actual construction. Within hours of the students departing for summer vacation the construction commenced, construction was completed in less than 10 weeks and they were preparing hot meals when the students returned in the fall. The scope included complete demolition of the existing cafeteria kitchen, serving area and dining area in the basement of the historic Flood Mansion. The existing space was stripped to the Structural exterior walls and slab above and to the original earthen grade. One of the most challenging components was routing of the grease flu through 4 floors of the historic mansion and converted classrooms to the roof.
