Estimating and Scheduling

estimatesandschedulingHere at Meyland Construction, cost estimating is one of our major strengths. We can provide construction cost estimates that range from conceptual preliminary budgets to firm competitive bids. Joe is a certified professional estimator (CPE) with the American Society of Professional Estimators and has also taught estimating at Sonoma State University for their continuing education program. Our ability to work with our cutomers during the budgeting phase of the project is something they value most about us. We work closely with our clients to help them understand what affects construction costs, where they have choices to make, and how to develop a project that fits within their budget constraints. Some components have a very wide range of choices and price points, while other components may be limited and unavoidable. We can provide prices based on unit costs and when the details are warranted, can provide accurate hard pricing as well as alternate pricing when considering various options or plans. We work closely with commercial real estate brokers and prospective clients to identify prospective tenant suites. During these site inspections, we are able to provide feedback on the costs of the various options being considered.estimatesandscheduling2

In addition to providing preliminary estimates for consideration of property selection, we also provide estimating services for other purposes, such as:  construction claims, property valuation, legal and expert witness testimony, fundraising, and insurance claims. We have worked with many property managers to establish their annual budgets, as well as worked with cost segregation consultants.

Scheduling is a critical component to a successful project. Construction scheduling ranges from micro crew schedules to macro project schedules. Schedules are often developed and implemented at the original conception of the project, but are continuously updated and distributed to all the participating parties. Schedules can include crew and labor demands, sequencing of sub contractors, identification and management of critical path events, and development and implementation of equipment and cash flow schedules.
